Looking Ahead to the Future
In addition to the alliances our institution is forging with universities in Taiwan and around the world, we have a number of strategic long-range development plans under way.
First, our school has devoted itself to establishing the Daguan Road in Banqiao City as the center of a Daguan Art Education Base which promotes the artistic development of local elementary and high school students. NTUA has cooperated extensively with the National Overseas Chinese Experimental Senior High School, Daguan Elementary School, and Daguan Junior High School which can be found nearby the institution on Daguan Road.
Second, NTUA has begun vigorously promoting the Cultural Creative Industry. Using government land which formerly housed the former Taipei Paper Factory, NTUA has created a Cultural Creative Industry Park. The park contains workshops specializing in glassware, lacquer ware, mosaic glasswork, and a wide variety of handicrafts. The venue also includes specialized classrooms, which are part of efforts to consolidate an industry-university cooperative research program. The establishment of the park is also part of the “Our Museum, Our Factory, Our Studio” concept aimed at producing marketing professionals necessary for the cultural product industry. NTUA has also been strongly supported by the Taipei County government, and is fully taking advantage of a cultural creative industry pattern based on a triangular relationship between industry, government, and academia.
